Conferinţa naţională “Faţa văzută şi nevăzută a filosofiei româneşti în ultima sută de ani” – 16 noiembrie 2018
VALORI MORALE ÎN ANUL CENTENARULUI. Spații diverse, valori unitare, progres moral și unitate culturală
În ziua de marţi, 6 noiembrie, de la orele 18.00, în Sala Mare a Institutului Cultural Român (Aleea Alexandru nr. 38, sector 1, 011824, Bucuresti, România), va avea loc dezbaterea Valori Morale în Anul Centenarului. Discuţia va fi un dialog între următoarele personalităţi universitare din domeniul filosofiei:
- Prof. Univ. Dr. Mircea Dumitru (Rector al Universităţii din Bucureşti)
- Prof. Univ. Dr. Valentin Mureșan (Facultatea de filosofie, UB)
- Prof. Univ. Dr. Viorel Vizureanu (Facultatea de filosofie, UB)
- Conf. Univ. Dr. Cristian Iftode (Facultatea de filosofie, UB)
- Lect. Univ. Dr. Emilian Mihailov (Director executiv al Centrului de Cercetare în Etică Aplicată, Facultatea de filosofie, UB)
Evenimentul, organizat în parteneriat cu Universitatea din Bucureşti, prin Centrul de Cercetare în Etică Aplicată, poartă subtitlul „Spații diverse, valori unitare – progres moral și unitate culturală”. În acest fel, dezbaterea de la ICR constituie un excelent prilej de reflecţie asupra progresului şi a valorilor morale care au marcat parcursul istoric al României în ultimii o sută de ani. Cu această ocazie, participanţii la discuţie vor evoca legătura intimă dintre Centenarul Marii Uniri şi problematica valorilor morale, o legătură în care care se reflectă dimensiunea dublă a idealului Marii Uniri, nu doar politică, ci și profund morală. Totodată, dezbaterea va constitui şi o provocare de a reflecta asupra prezentului românesc, la 100 de ani de la Marea Unire. Întrebarea generică, sub care va sta întregul eveniment, este “Cât de mult am învăţat împreună în ultima sută de ani, unde suntem acum şi, mai ales, care sunt perspectivele morale ale societăţii româneşti”.

Seminarul de cercetare interdisciplinară „Filosofie si filocalie”
Va invităm luni, 29 octombrie, începând cu ora 18.00 la seminarul de cercetare interdisciplinară „Filosofie si filocalie”, organizat de CCIIF.
Seminarul este coordonat de către dl. Prof. Dr. SABIN TOTU.

JUDD BANKERT
BIOGRAPHY
Born and raised in Michigan Judd obtained his undergraduate degree in accounting and finance from Michigan State University. He would spend almost two decades working as a certified public accountant in both the States and overseas. After living and working on the Pacific island of Guam for six years Judd would become Guam’s first Olympic athlete by represent this U.S. Territory in the 1988 Winter Olympics, competing in the Biathlon. Upon returning to the States Judd would obtain a Master’s Degree from the University of Illinois in curriculum and instruction and taught public school for three years before moving the Staunton, Virginia. Judd finished his working career by serving as the manager of finance and operations at the regional homeless shelter. Now retired, Judd is committed to sharing the words and ideals of the 28th President during this centennial of Wilson’s presidency.
DISCOVERY AS WILSON
At a reception on the lawn of the Woodrow Wilson Presidential Library the Library’s curator noticed a man who bore a striking resemblance to the 28th President. “Has anyone ever told you you looked like Woodrow Wilson?” he asked. “No,” the Wilson look-a-like said, explaining that he had only just moved to Staunton, Virginia from Illinois where he had been teaching kindergarten. His wife had just accepted a teaching position at nearby James Madison University and they had just moved to town. He went on to explain that he had come to the reception because he had always been interested in history and wanted to learn more about the President. “We can help you with that,” the curator assured him. That was in 2001 and Judd has been portraying our 28th President and learning more about him and the times he lived in ever since.
