Call for papers: Analele Universităţii din Bucureşti, Seria Filosofie (The Annals of the University of Bucharest, Philosophical series)
General Presentation and Submission Information
The Annals of the University of Bucharest, Philosophical series, is a philosophical research journal, published by the University of Bucharest, Faculty of Philosophy.
The Annals of the University of Bucharest, Philosophical series, is a scholarly double blind peer reviewed journal. The journal publishes articles considered of relevance for those interested in the field of philosophy and is addressed both to the Romanian and international philosophical community, with a special accent on East- and Central-European area.
The Annals of the University of Bucharest, Philosophical series, is devoted to the exploration of different topics of Philosophy.
All contributions developing an original research coming from different areas of philosophy are welcome and should be sent by e-mail as attachment. Manuscripts should be submitted to the editor at annals.philosophy@ub-filosofie.ro. Submission implies that the manuscript has not been published elsewhere.

Manuscript preparation
All manuscripts should be formatted in Rich Text Format file (*rtf) or Microsoft Word document (*doc) with 12 pt. font size and double-spaced, in Rich Format Style. Authors should use the author-date system documentation style, as it is presented in The Chicago Manual of Style, 16th edition.
Authors should limit the paper submission to 8000 words, including footnotes and references. Manuscripts will be written in English only. Papers should have an abstract and key words. The authors assume all responsibility for the content and originality of the article published in the journal.
Deadline
The Annals of the University of Bucharest, Philosophical series, is a biannual publication issued by the Faculty of Philosophy and the University of Bucharest.
For The Annals of the University of Bucharest, Philosophical series, the edition of 2013 (two numbers), all contributions are welcome by the 1st of June 2013.

Idei filosofice în arta Europeană modernă şi contemporană (1850-2000)
Impactul dezvoltării tehnologice şi al modificărilor politice majore asupra artelor a fost unul semnificativ în toată această perioadă. Explorările tematice, modificările din procesul creativ cât şi din acela al receptării artistice îşi găsesc surse atât în abordările ştiinţifice, politice, sociologice şi antropologice, cât şi în cele filosofice. Un anume Weltanschauung al modernităţii şi al postmodernităţii îşi face simţită prezenţa în creaţia artistică europeană a secolelor XIX şi XX.
Care sunt temele abordate cu precădere, de ce se apelează la tehnici noi de creaţie, de ce arta şi artistul devin tot mai implicaţi în viaţa socială şi politică a vremii, de ce sunt abandonate anumite categorii estetice în favoarea altora, de ce noul este clamat cu vehemenţă până devine o tradiţie, care sunt efectele globalizării asupra artelor, ce teme filosofice se regăsesc în manifestările artistice ale acestei perioade?
Iată câteva dintre întrebările la care vă invităm să oferiţi răspunsuri participând cu lucrări la Conferinţa naţională de estetică şi filosofia artei pentru studenţi, masteranzi şi doctoranzi ce va avea loc la Facultatea de Filosofie a Universităţii din Bucureşti în data de 25 aprilie 2013.
Această conferinţă este organizată de Centrul pentru Istoria Circulaţiei Ideilor Filosofice şi este dedicată Domnului Profesor univ. Ion Ianoşi a cărui întreagă activitate din domeniul esteticii şi filosofiei culturii va fi omagiată în aceste zile.

The Doctoral School of Political Science of the Faculty of Political Science, University of Bucharest has the pleasure to invite you to the first edition of our International Conference – “Challenges of Transition: the Post-communist Experience(s)”. The event will take place on May, 24th – 25th 2013 at the Faculty of Political Science of the University of Bucharest (no. 8, Spiru Haret Street).
On this occasion, we welcome contributions from doctoral students, researchers and faculty staff within the fields of political science, history, law, sociology, philosophy and economics on any of the themes listed in our Call for Papers, by March, 10th 2013.

The Center for the Logic, History and Philosophy of Science organizes its fourth graduate conference for advanced master and PhD students working on early modern philosophy and on the history and philosophy of science. The event will be held on May 10-11, 2013 at the University of Bucharest, Romania.

We cordially invite graduate students to forward abstracts on any topic related to early modern philosophy by February 15, 2013. Abstracts should not exceed 500 words and should be prepared for blind review. Participating papers will be given 40 minutes (30 minutes talk, 10 minutes open discussion). The Program Committee will notify authors of its decision by February 20.
