Filosofia contemporană pare destul de sigură de sine atunci când îşi impune lipsa de direcţie croindu-şi cu minuţiozitate traseul întru eranţă. Actualul simpozion va pune (poate) în discuţie metodele, sistemele şi alte structuri filosofice destinale (vizibile sau invizibile) aşa cum ele sunt prezente în mentalul filosofic actual.

SIMPOZION STUDENŢESC
organizat de Facultatea de Filosofie a Universităţii din Bucureşti
Ideea unei Uniuni Europene nu este nouă; ea coboară în trecut până în vremurile când popoarele creştine ale continentului nostru îşi dădeau seama, în faţa invaziilor musulmane, de importanţa unei solidarităţi europene. De aceea, mai ales în timp de război sau după marile războaie, lideri politici şi religioşi, filosofi, jurişti, artişti, scriitori sau oameni obişnuiţi au dat discursului asupra Europei forma unui discurs asupra păcii.
Simpozionul îşi propune să exploreze, pe de o parte, cum s-a gândit despre Europa de-a lungul timpului, cum a fost ea proiectată şi construită ca entitate politică şi care a fost impactul asupra societăţilor şi culturilor, în diferite perioade; pe de altă parte, cum se construieşte astăzi Europa, ce loc deţin în această construcţie naţiunile, instituţiile şi cetăţenii, dar şi tradiţia, ideologia, imaginarul.
Lucrările se vor desfăşura pe secţiuni.
În final, va avea loc o Masă rotundă: Cum văd eu Europa?
Apel pentru contribuţii
Sunt invitaţi să participe la colocviu studenţi, masteranzi, doctoranzi, cercetători, cadre didactice din Bucureşti şi din ţara.
Toţi cei care doresc să se înscrie în program sunt rugaţi să trimită, până la 1 martie 2011, titlul comunicării, însoţit de un scurt rezumat (c. 200 cuv.), precizări privind afilierea instituţională şi eventuala participare la Masa rotundă, pe adresa de e-mail:gandindeuropa@gmail.com
Timpul alocat fiecărei prezentări, incluzând întrebările şi discuţiile: 30 min.
Programul simpozionului va fi definitivat până la 10 martie 2011 şi va fi postat pe site-ul Facultăţii de Filosofie: http://www.ub-filosofie.ro
Nu se percepe taxă de participare. Cazarea şi transportul vor fi suportate de participanţi.

The 2nd Edition of Bucharest Postgraduate Conference in Early Modern Philosophy
CALL FOR PAPERS
The Center for the Logic, History and Philosophy of Science organizes its second postgraduate conference for advanced master students and Phd-students working on history and philosophy of science. This will be held on March 7-8, 2011 at the University of Bucharest, Romania.

We cordially invite graduate students to forward abstracts on any topic related to Early Modern Philosophy by February 4th, 2011. Abstracts should be no longer than 500 words prepared for blind review. Papers will have a presentation time of 30 minutes with 10 minutes for discussions. The Program Committee (Prof. Ilie Parvu, Lect. Dana Jalobeanu, Lect. Sorin Costreie) will notify authors of its decision by February 9th.

SIMPOZION NAŢIONAL Maiorescu şi maiorescianismul în conştiinţa filosofică românească actuală, prilejuit de împlinirea a 170 de ani de la naşterea gânditorului. Simpozionul este organizat de Facultatea de Filosofie a Universităţii din Bucureşti împreună cu Societatea Română de Filosofie, în ziua de 26 noiembrie 2010.

What is a moral rule? How can an ethical norm become a legal rule? Is there a general tendency of translating moral prescriptions into laws? Can an ethical code produce legal effects directly? But what about other kinds of internal regulations dealing with moral behavior of employees, managers, board members et al.? These are only a few of the questions the BCAE ’10 participants will try to answer on October 29 and 30, 2010.
This year edition is being organized by Smart Solutions & Support, Romania, and the Research Centre in Applied Ethics, Faculty of Philosophy, University of Bucharest, with the support of the Romanian National Civil Servants Agency, the Romanian Commission for Bioethics from UNESCO, Dinu Patriciu Foundation and others.

SECOND CALL FOR PAPERS Passionate Minds Knowledge and the Emotions in Intellectual History The centrality of the emotions in all areas of human thought, action and expression has lately begun to be recognized and investigated with increasing interest within a variety of disciplines, from cognitive science and the philosophy of emotions to literary and anthropological studies. One central insight of such explorations is that the view of the separation and even opposition between cognition and affectivity is an unjust representation of the complexity of the life of both individuals and communities. Intellectual historians have also become sensitive to the issue and are in fact in a privileged position to bring to the fore the variety and richness of the approaches to the interplay of knowledge and the emotions in the history of thought. This conference aims to address the topic of the interplay of emotions and cognition as it bears on historical views of epistemology, logic, psychology, theology, medicine, moral philosophy or aesthetics, on approaches to education and the transmission of knowledge, as well as on the dynamics of intellectual communities. We invite panels and individual papers that address any aspect of this theme with reference to any historical period, as well as relevant methodological and historiographic questions. There will also be general sessions devoted to other proposed intellectual historical topics.
