International conference "Confronting Holocaust Distortion in the Digital Era"

Our colleague, PhD Lecturer Oana Șerban, will attend the international conference “Confronting Holocaust Distortion in the Digital Era”, organized by Yad Vashem, the POLIN Museum, Holocaust Centre North, the University of Huddersfield, the Leibniz Institute of Contemporary History, Brandeis University, the Polish Center for Holocaust Research, and the Holocaust Museum LA.

Taking place between November 18–20, 2025, this major international event will bring together scholars, educators, and museum professionals to explore the growing phenomenon of Holocaust distortion in digital spaces.

Her paper, entitled “Biopolitics 2.0: Analyzing Holocaust Distortion and Denial in Romanian Digital Environments. A Case Study on Corrective Justice Mechanisms on Facebook: The Digital Heritage of ‘Viral’ Cancel Culture,” is developed within the research project BIOART — PN-IV-P2-2.1-TE-2023-0636, “Biopolitical Art in the Post-Holocaust Age: Philosophical Perspectives on Aestheticized Testimonies, Politicized Aesthetics, and Bare Life”, financed by UEFISCDI.
