VĂ INVITĂ LA CONFERINŢA
Kierkegaard’s Concept of the Self (and the Debt of Heidegger and Sartre)
SUSŢINUTĂ DE

Professor of Philosophy
Department of Philosophy
College of Charleston (USA)
Kierkegaard’s complex account of how a human self is forged creates an ontology full of existential and phenomenological possibilities. I will explain Kierkegaard’s notion of selfhood, and examine his claim that a self is created through a passionate commitment to a vocation (and how this constitutes the ‘life of faith.’) Heidegger and Sartre owe much to this conceptual scheme, and I will explore some of the ways in which Kierkegaard remains a lively presence in their work.
Conferinţa va avea loc Marţi 21 MAI 2013, ORELE 12.00
