Lecturer Marin Bălan obtained his PhD from the University of Bucharest in 1999. He is a historian of philosophy whose research and teaching focus on Medieval Philosophy and related issues in Greek Philosophy, Church Fathers Thought, and Modern Philosophy. He maintains an active interest concerning the Relation between Science and Religion. His philosophical interests also include issues in Philosophy for Children and the Teaching of Philosophy in classrooms from preschool to college. He teaches courses in Medieval Philosophy, Didactics of Philosophy, and the European Idea in the Middle Ages.
